Heart Rootedness

(A reminder of what you already know)

Are you one of the fortunate ones who are navigating the extra rich heaviness of this time?

Alongside the grief of witnessing this relentless genocidal assault in Gaza, feeling the waves of pain ripping through the collective (regardless of our opinions on the situation), many of us are being asked to meet and repair ever-deeper layers of our personal-generational-ancestral-karmic ruptures.

It feels like a compressed intensity, said a recent affirming text from a friend.

Unfiltered desert summer sunrise // monsoon clouds breaking a spell of extreme heat

For some, there’s a flowering awareness that our souls came here for this alchemy. Not to suffer and feel pain for the sake of it, no. But to be rooted in the heart. To soften more and more into the heart, to open to what’s here without hardening and closing off against it.

It’s not always easy. But it does eventually open up to ease. To the ease and simplicity of living from the heart, and not the mind. To allow ourselves the essential luxury of our deepest desires for peace, love, prosperity, freedom - for ourselves and all beings, knowing that they’re not really our desires but the movement of something much vaster, more mysterious wanting to express through us.

The mind - the most externally conditioned part of us - can’t abide simplicity. It certainly doesn’t entertain the possibility of our core desire-values. Life is hard. This is the way it’s always been and always will be.

An immature and narrow perspective that we have been trained to entrain to, generation after generation.

The heart, on the other hand…

When we inhabit the heart, we have a wider perspective. Free from the conditioned contractions of the mind, we can know and feel that our core desire-values are not a zero sum game.

(But: Let’s not force the heart into opening. It’s what it does naturally, when we gently, unhurriedly surrender into it, moment by moment.)

From the heart, we feel more easily when we’re closing off to Life. From the heart, we can advocate for ourselves and others without rigidity, without needing anyone to agree with us. From the heart, we can allow difference, not simply as something to tolerate, but as a vital and delightful flavour of evolution.

From the heart, harmful systems based on this vs. that can dissolve, within + without. The head resumes its rightful place as the heart's messenger, allowing for the emergence of an open witnessing of how both/and can co-exist to birth new dimensions.

We’re a process within a process. And we can lean into trusting it, bit by bit, from the heart.

As we open from the heart, we stop demanding repair + restoration from closed systems anchored in distorted contractions, of the unnatural dogma of either/or. Our belonging doesn't hinge on our positions, on picking sides - paradoxically making space for us to act on behalf of what our heart feels + knows as truth.

If we’re alive at this time, we came here to surrender into the timeless, evolutionary wisdom of the heart - and to build new, previously unimaginable worlds from here.
