Under its towering canopy, people gathered. Sitting on the ground, they felt invisible roots growing deep into dark earth, nourishing them to rise towards sun + sky - like their relative, the tree.
Vision-filled stories guided them into the mysteries of above + below, within + without.
Butterfly + stag, eagle + snake shared their tales; so too the meandering river nearby.
All understood this: Knowledge untethered to Wisdom would run the river dry.

Root + Rise is an online group membership, teaching + mentoring space nourished by decolonial (inner-decolonization) principles, as a route to radical wholeness and liberation.
Guided by Rohini Walker, the intention of Root + Rise is to support you in a transformative journey of re-membering your soul-body, leading to a rich + resonant relationship with the continuum of your larger Self, the Earth + the Cosmos.

Root + Rise is a cyclical journey of weaving wholeness in a dedicated container and community.
The focus is on inner alchemy through working with myth, somatic experiencing practices, and being in active relationship with the rhythms of nature - within + without.

What will I participate in?
Root + Rise has a seasonal framework
On Spring Equinox, Summer Solstice, Autumn Equinox + Winter Solstice in the northern hemisphere, we meet a new myth or story that will be our guide through the season. These myths, from storytelling traditions around the world, provide the overarching themes + symbols which inform our Monthly Practices.
At the beginning of each month, members receive teachings + practices related to rooting down to tend the soil of your soul-body in order to rise from a place of embodied integration.

“I spent around 6 months in Root + Rise. Lots happened to me during that time, I went through a phase of intense expansion and growth. Our sessions were a great melting pot of the esoteric: myth + practices from Native American and Egyptian culture, inner alchemy, Jung, embodied energetics, and much more. How much time will the work + practices take?
Root + Rise is designed for you to go at your own pace, allowing you to be as involved as your schedule and lifestyle allow.
To receive benefit and transformation from this work and from your membership, it is recommended that you spend a minimum of one hour a week on Root + Rise.

Monthly Online Teaching, Mentoring + Q&A sessions
There are 2 two-hour online Monthly Sessions per month, one at the beginning of the month, after the monthly practices have been sent out, and one two weeks later. Group formats are potent ways of creating empathy, compassion + connection, thereby reducing feelings of alienation + isolation.
These sessions focus on the season’s myth + the Monthly Practices.
All these sessions are recorded and made available to you after the event in case you couldn’t attend, and for you to refer back to.

About your guide, Rohini Walker
I’m an Indian-born British writer, teacher and trauma-informed guide who’s been planted in a remote corner of the Mojave high desert in California for the past 10+ years.
I’ve been a practitioner and teacher of diverse esoteric traditions of inner alchemy + energy work for over 15 years, and continue to learn from my teachers - both human and more-than-human.
I’m also a student, practitioner and teacher of trauma-informed somatic experiencing work, shadow integration, dream and archetypal methodologies.
A Masters in European History + Literature from University College London (UCL) gave me a strong grounding in my lifelong love of mythology, which in my teaching + mentoring, I approach from the holistic lens of the right brain - allowing the art of storytelling to unite seamlessly with the practices I share.
Ultimately, I’m a student of myriad wisdom traditions that point towards the larger Mystery of what we are. My passion arises from communicating with you at the level of soul, and drawing that out as the focal point of from which you create the blooming, biodiverse garden of your Life.
The confluence + interpretation of these traditions through the lens of decoloniality (inner decolonization) arose from some wild + rich adventures with personal trauma caused by inner/outer structures of oppression.
My diverse life experiences continue to move me into and through cycles of re-wholing and re-membering my mythic soul-body, her unbreakable relationship to the World Soul - the Anima Mundi - and always towards answering the irresistible call to thriving, meaning-making adventure.
